Popular L.A. band The Lions roar into Union Station this holiday season and bring the rhythm of reggae to a Cocoa Concert in collaboration with Metro Art Presents.
Inspired by Jamaican music and sound system culture, The Lions are comprised of some of the city’s most notable reggae players and they have showcased stellar musicians including Grammy Award-winner Macy Gray.
The band has performed throughout Southern California and their music has been featured in the hit USA TV show “Burn Notice.” Their most recent album, “Soul Riot,” features original tunes inspired by soul and reggae influences.
Additionally, DJ Connie Price will be spinning in between sets, at 6:30 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. Dan Ubick, aka DJ Constantine Price, is a producer and multi-instrumentalist with an extensive vinyl record collection who has DJ’d at many of L.A.’s hottest dance clubs.
The free, family-friendly holiday concert will be set in a winter wonderland with a Holiday Light Display featuring thousands of glistening lights and dancing snowflakes surrounding a towering white Christmas tree, a Cocoa Bar with Elftenders, a Holiday Craft Zone for gingerbread house making, a Kid’s Zone with a Reindeer Toss and Snowball Slam and an Ugly Christmas Sweater contest with prizes.
As a sweet treat, guests can enjoy free cotton candy from the Hollywood Candy Girls and Santa Selfies with the most popular guy in Tinseltown.
