In celebration of Mother’s Day, Los Angeles based artist Holly Vesecky has created an ephemeral botanical sculpture comprised of plants and flowers reflecting the architectural characteristics of Union Station. “LA Holloway” consists of two lush nesting floral arches, measuring eight feet and six feet tall, featuring fragrant dogwood branches, wild cucumber vine, citrus, green pepper berries, peonies and fritelleria. These arches have been installed in the grand entrance to the Historic Ticketing Hall to highlight the station’s architecture and color palette.
“LA Holloway” will be on view through Sunday, May 13 at 12:30 pm. At this time, station visitors will be invited to take flowers from the sculpture home with them.
