Union Station: B Line (Red)/D Line (Purple) Concourse

Inviting commuters to step into a fantasy scene of Los Angeles time travel, historical and contemporary references are interwoven in this ceramic mural with simulated architectural elements to create the illusion that the station extends into the artwork. A variety of travelers dating back to 1750 are depicted among a shipwrecked Spanish galleon in the desert, a covered wagon in front of the 19th-century Pico House hotel and City Hall before the construction of local freeways.
